Live-action vids by AMVers

but you see thats pretty much exactly what I'm talking about - you just "proved my point". All I was doing was just pointing out the differences between "professional" music video editors and amvers.

Pro's don't have their nuts in a twist about beat sync. They just don't.

Also some amvers get so obsessive over "beat sync" that they forget anything else and do make cuts on every little beat they hear so much that there should be warnings on their vids and such.

I too think that there should be a balance to make a good music video (as the two directors I mentioned do very well with it and make some amazing works) but thats not "how it is" right now. Though I have started to notice a trend towards the two styles somewhat merging.

I'm also talking about the two extremes. Obviously not all AMVers think along those lines (that you must cut on every drumbeat), and not all Professionals think along those lines (who cares about the song, its there to accent my awsum cinematography skillz) either.

I wont be surprised when this convo gets split to the donater's forum or something..
either way I've said my piece... thats pretty much it.

I made a live action vid a few years ago using the movie Falling Down set to System of a Down - Toxicity. It wasn't very good. I also made a vid using classic tv commercials from the 60's and 70's set to Darude - Sandstorm as part of a presentation for my college's advertising club. It's on CD somewhere and is maybe the best beat matching I've ever done.

Guess I'll get this thread back on track ;) Some videos I've made over the years (download-able from the site in my sig)....

Bruce Lee "Lose Control"

Jet Li's Unleashed

Lord of the Rings "Ascension"

Star Wars - Skywalker "Legacy"

And yes, I am obviously a big Sevendust fan lol.

I can't link to it because it's on the booch, but if you search for "Harry's Magic Stick", there's a great little video somebody did on there (I can't seem to locate it anywhere else). It's one of the better live-action attempts I've seen and they seem to edit as though they've done amv's--or something similar. I always enjoy watching it.

Thanks, JD. :D

A tribute video to Sylar from Heroes. I was kinda bored, and just sat down and did this one to spend my time. I cut the song because it just gets really repetitive, and I didn't feel like going though it.

This is my first music video with real people, and why not use my favorite thing in the whole world, Lost! I have been working on this video on and off for a long time due to glitched in my program and the fact the real people lag :P. So with all that said please enjoy and comment!

I liked the bit in the newsletter. It puts a nice face on LAMVs. Since I usually use LAMVs myself, it's nice to see them get some attantion.

And on another note, my experience on this site tells me that people hate LAMVs. Why?

Not sure who you're talking to. There are a ton of really great live-action videos.

i think youre mistaking people disliking abuse of the servers/breaking the site rules with hating live action mvs... quite a few of the people i have met on this site actually like them and make them as well...
