Frustration and the rules

Postby axron27 » Thu Oct 31, 2002 5:46 am

I wrote a topic about promoting anime in my country, the U.S. and to briefly summarize I said that it would be a nice alternative to the smut that is being constantly pushed on our TV and that many of the anime characters were better role models than my country's celebrities. This bonehead kept commenting as if I was looking for more porn and exploitation of women -the exact opposite- of my point. Well I took the time to explain to this person that their response was inappropriate to my thread and that it took time and much thought to type what I had just written and that I hoped that setting this individual straight didn't offend said person. The next thing I know this bonehead responds and says I'm sorry I didn't know you were talking about porn. After typing my little fingers off on my first article then typing a long explanation to that person my patience went right out the window. I then asked if this idiot -we're beyond person- if he/she was illiterate -because i swear I was typing in plain words- or on drugs and asked said individual not to reply to my posts anymore and to get his/her head out of the gutter. I'm not a prude actually I'm a liberal but my country is brainwashing young women and girls that prostitution and stripping is their purpose in life and young men that begging or paying for sex is the way to get affection, and our entertainment acts like a ten year old with a dirty book, finding any excuse to write it into any show or movie. Well I pointed out that many of the characters of anime would be better role models than say Britney Spears or Snoop Doggy Dog. I was looking for suggestions on encouraging artists in my country and promoting already active Japanese artists and firms. Well this fool probably killed my chances for feedback from those who can read and might help due to peoples timidity to reply over replies. What a horrible waste of my time and thoughts not once but twice. I didn't swear but the illiteracy comment may have been harsh but I really wanted to know what this person's defect was. I apologize to you at admin if you see the thread and are yourselves offended but to that individual who's name refers to a holiday in February I meant every word. I checked other responses this person made to other posts and except for one post this idiot's replies were totally inane.

Um ... yeah ... well there are idiots on this forum (like there are idiots in real life) don't mind them too much.

But shouldn't this post be in the off-topic forum or your journal? I don't see what the realtion to AMV's is...

Idiots are everywhere. The best way to deal with them is to ignore them.

You know, I'm not sure if mudslinging people in separate topics is really the way to carry on intelligent discourses. And for the record, I just read the thread that you (axron27) were referring to and there seems to be a few discrepancies in the way you are presenting the events that took place there.

Like, for instance, the fact that LittleKefalos started the topic to ask about what people thought of the various anime companies in the US.

And it looks to me as if valentine (who you so nicely referred to but did not specifically name) were merely answering LittleKefalos's question for the most part and that when he/she did address you directly, he/she was just saying that there are some US animation studios that are trying to dispel the notion in the US that "animation is for kids", with not a single mention of porn in this or any other "inane" post that valentine has made.

In fact, your initial post, and all subsequent ones, appear to have been the ones moving LittleKefalos's thread off-topic. So please don't point fingers and blame people when it is unwarranted.

I'm glad you(paisuri) posted the link, at first I thought the person must have been acting like a total 'tard, but after reading the whole thread I can see that there were mostly only honest replies and helpfull information given. I think that you (axron) took things a little out of proportion.

For the record. Yes the thread did go a bit off topic. But its OK, it has just become more geneal, which may allow it to become a larger topic.

I just don't like people being negative towards others, that's all.

Feel free to answer the thread how you feel fit (I know this may lead to bad things, don't even wan to get into them), just don't be mad at others when they may just be answering another question or their own.

AHHhhhh well you just don't know do you!

Don't take things personally and don't make things personal.

Just please relax. Thanks. :D
