FUCK RTW.

So EB1.0 came out and I decided to do some tactical battles with the new units.

I've got a single legion posted in a fort guarding my Illyrian provinces. I've been allied to the epirotes for years, and out of nowhere comes an army twice the size of mine. I figure, eh, the legion can't possibly defend, I only have one to use in any quick manner, so I send them to war on the first siege turn. I instantly kill their giant arrow guys, 3 cubit projectors or whatever, but, towards the end of the battle, I realize I can't keep attacking, too weak, they just retreat into the fort, and all the AI does is dance around. No time limit. Finally, after seeing no alternative, I hit exit battle. I must have killed well over half their army during that battle. You could hardly see the grass for huge swathes of the field, and yet exit battle, they've got their projectors back, as well as many of their phalanxes I defeated!! I think I'll send a single unit and auto_win attacking them. That's just ridiculous. Why couldn't I just surrender, and if they needed to full out execute every brave camillian soldier and the Illyrian spearman unit who put up a excellent fight (I'll have to remember those dudes, even under missle fire and horrible odds surrounding them at one part, they stayed the course) then do so, but realize their victory was near pyrrhic!

I just got through with Portal which was really fun, but reeeeeeally short (and somewhat easy), and plan on starting HL2 next. I've also tried a few games of TF2 and didn't do too bad.

On another note:

If anyone can suggest good DS games, please inform me. I'm on a budget, so a nice cheap one would be nice. X_X

Just got Crysis yesterday... such a fun game - nothing like cloaking yourself and shooting a Korean soldier point blank in the face with a shotgun. It makes my system cry on high settings though. :(

I'm not sure if I've played anything other than TF2 and SFA2 recently.

Crysis. Beat it in about 12 hours on normal difficulty. I'm still baffled why a pistol fired from 200 feet away will drain my suit energy in armor mode, while I can fire 5 rifle shots into the enemies heads. Stupid hit detection I assume.
WTF? The game doesn't end! I assumed that there would be sequel or more, but come on! You're in the middle of the big battle and the game ends! At least end with some sort of conclusion, and not in the middle of flying back to the island. So when is Crysis: Part 2? And the big warship was lame. Stupid aliens for only putting 6 weapons on the damn thing :/.
Super Mario Galaxy!

Best platforming game in quite awhile by far.

Stranglehold on the other hand was a bit of a letdown. At least the PS3 version comes with Hard Boiled on the disk.
