Yeah, when I first heard they were making a movie I was really excited, but from the previews it looks like they fucked it up. I mean, they gave Will telekinesis and shit. WTF.

Yes, but mostly incantations having to do with time and fighting the Dark iirc, not random superpowers (though admitedly it has been a while since I read the books). And I wonder if they mention the whole being immortal thing in the movie.

Seriously. I read these books as a kid. I think a more faithful translation would have been better.

I don't like what they did to Merriman, either. I always pictured him as a Gandalf-esque figure, not some old battle-ax.

Nevermind the lack of the Wild Hunt. That was one of the coolest scenes in the book.
