Avid Exspress, Getting Round The Dongle...

Postby Ginger Gouki » Fri Sep 14, 2007 9:17 am

Avid. Look at it, isnt it shiney with its colored keybord and dual screen lovelyness. I see these systems on a daily basis and I envy them.

Ok, abstract aside. Im getting back into the AMV sene, after far too long, and at my work, we have (dun dun-dun daaa!) Avid! Avid exspress to be more presice, a light-wight version of said program and I want to use it. We have a company licence but only one dongle (and USB device needed for the prgm to run). I just wanted to ask if anyone knew of a work around?

As I said, this is LEGAL, we over 25 Avid's here and 2 systems running Avid exspress, I want to make my desktop the 3rd.

Anyhoo, hope you guys can help, but if not, no worryes. Good to be back ether way.

No. You need to contact Avid and get another dongle. Expect to pay about $400.

Sorry for the double post, but you can also move the dongle between the different computers. You can only run it simultaneously on as many computers as you have dongles, though.

Well, it was worth a shot. As the box running Avid exspress is used for digitising (sp?!) it in use just about all the time and I cant really justify pintching the dongle just AMV use.

Anyhoo, thanks for your help ^_^
