Vegas AVI help

Postby Sasoriakakatsuki » Sat Sep 08, 2007 8:41 pm

Ok know that vegas doesnt play certain AVI videos. But I'm trying to load a naruto episode and i got no video. so i used a converter and my quality was worse than youtube. So, is there a way to make an avi file play in vegas and not take up 100GB?

Also, how do i play songs from Itunes onto Vegas?

itunes downloads = burn to a CD and rip the CD however it is you normally rip CDs

as for converting to video that will work in Vegas:

here is a list of editable codecs the codecs you would want to use in Vegas are either Huffyuv or Lararith, both make huge files, you can however convert your files in Virtualdub Mod and only take the short clips you need (this will require more planning when making your video though)

and if you disable the audio it will also save space... (in virtualdub mod go to streams->streams list-> disable stream) it will also keep vegas from having to "render audio peaks" which gets really annoying after a while

what like the whole episode?
probably not unless you want to use a codec thats not good for editing with :/ and vegas will reject

thats why i said to take clips only

DO NOT USE MPEG-1. Because it is very lossy compression and old (like late 1980's old). You "can" use it, but at a major quality loss. Make clips and use lossless compression or buy a 500 Gb hard drive, they're cheap nowadays and convert the whole episode(s).
