I'm a bit of a noob here, so I'm sorry if I posted this question in the wrong place but would anybody know how I can place a main image/video in the front of my screen while I put different images to the left and right of the screen?

Yea, this is definately a software spicific kind of thing which is better suited to the sub-forum of your particular software than the one for special effects in general.
