It should have ended when L died. I didn't watch the whole anime yet (finals week) but that's the impression I got from the manga. The ending sucked and crapped all over the character traits of both kira and the glasses guy whose name escapes me at this time.
And God spoke unto the Chicken, and He said: "Thou shalt crosseth the road", and the Chicken did cross the road, and there was much rejoicing.

If it were to end after L, then I'd like to see a shift of focus from him becoming god, a life with a human god and his ultimate demise. In fact, I rather wish they had gone that route anyhow, L and yagami were too young for my tastes, and Near. At his age? Please.

Overall a great anime, I found the ending above average too, both of the possible endings would've been fine by me. Though I would've preferred the battle between L and Yagami to go on longer and that would've been the end of the whole series. Well, it wasn't up to me so..

Anyone else prefer the ending of the live-action version? :\

Death Note has been licensed for America.
And a trailer has been released.

I absolutely dispise the voices they chose.
This realizes one of my worst fears.
Like so many excelent animes, Death Note has been ruined upon coming to America.

What the hell did they do to Kira's voice! This makes me very angry. See my angry face: :x

The ending was ,meh, for me. I've seen better, I've seen worse.

I've had issues with some voice actor-character matchups, like (this is just my personal taste here, please don't write my name in the deathnote) Vash the stampede or Naruto, and probably some others that I forgot, but I got used to them and now wouldn't give up the voices for anything.

but Light's voice? NO.

the voice actor isn't too bad, but the character-actor pair is wrong. I think the actor would be better as Ash Ketchum's next VA or something in that genre :?
whats kainda funny is that Ed's 5'6", and he's taller than me. ............and he's called short..............*sigh*

Was that L's voice in the anime or is that voice just used to hide his real voice? Because it sounds way too demonic

I don't like light's voice. I know he could have gotten a better one. He should have gotten the demonic voice used for L in the trailer XD but kidding aside... the voice is not bad but it doesn't suit light at all. Maybe when he acts innocent, yes. My opinion ^^

... are you seriously asking?

from what i got from the trailer, the voice of light sounds a bit to cheesey, but i'll give him some slack until i watch an actual episode in english. as for L, does anyone know who will be playing the voice of him? you can hear his actual voice in the very last line he speaks "...if you can!" it almost sounds like steven blum... or crispin freeman...

I don't really know.....

and I finally read the ending.....I've finaly decided--my favorite characters are L and Matsuda. Light got kicked off the list. just curiosity, though--has anyone read volume 13? I was wondering if
light became a shinigami from using the deathnote
DEATH NOTE IS AMAZING *spoilers*

Postby xTwilightPuppetx » Thu Aug 23, 2007 11:23 am

mmk, so i own all the series,a nd Ive watched it all courtesy of veoh, and varous other sites...aha

But yes, it is one of the most beautiful anime's i have ever encountered. I CRIED AT THE END WHEN RAITO DIED. I hated the way they killed him in the anime. I mean Imma huge fan of ryuk, but that just pissed me off whut he did to raito. D:
But yeah, the anime made it much sadder, but beautiful in a way. I hated that it had to end that way. It also stunk that MATT WENT BYE BYE. He was so beautiful. him and mello. Oh it was so sad. But NEAR IS STILL SO FREAKIN PRETTY, so it doesnt matter.lol

I just wish they would make a season 2 or something, its wont be as good tho, because Raito and L are dead, but for crying out loud, whut ever happened to Misa, or Mikami, and that stupid ass Matsuda Pissed me off. I htink he should die liek now. D:<
He had NO RIGHT TO SHOOT RAITO, stupid scared baby. But yeah, thats about it for now, Im done ranting. :D

THERE ARE ONLY 12 VOLUMES...aha. And yeah Raito never bacame a shinigami, Ryuk stupidly killed him well, in the manga that is. In the anime it was ryuk and matsuda. But matsuda is a ass, that should have died liek long ago. aha.

The purple is burning my brain...

Please refrain from posting spoilers like that, not everyone has watched the show and read the manga. We have a spoiler tag for that - typing in this:

text

turns out this:
text
I know the series lasted for 12 volumes but Isn't there a vol 13 that ties up loose ends? I thought it was somewhere in this forum.

and I was fine with Light till he started getting all superior, then at the end turned into..........ugh.
