exposure blur in AE 7.0 pro?

Postby otbwavelength » Tue Aug 21, 2007 9:42 pm

I realize i'm asking a lot of questions, but trust me, this is going to good use :D

I looked all through the effects and asked a few other people, but I can't seem to find an effect that can replicate "exposure".

Basically, I have a circle (a note from a video game, think a spinoff of DDR) that's bright. The note is going up the screen, and as it goes up, I want it to leave a blurry after-trail of itself, similar to when you leave the exposure open on a camera and light trails are created.

I've tried a bunch of things, does anyone know if there's a technique or effect specific to doing this?

Nah, that blurs it on *both* sides; what i'm talking about is when the object leaves an afterimage of itself that's blurry.

aka not an echo, because that's a crisp afterimage of itself, i'm talking about an afterimage that's blurry, etc.

Look at the filters categorized under "Time".
