I don´t think that someone needs PI too often. It´s better to know how to really use fractal noise in AE if you ask me.

The requirements for Adobe After Effects 3.1 are as follows:
* Intel486(TM) or greater processor
* Microsoft(R) Windows 95 or Windows NT 3.51 or later operating system
* QuickTime 2.1.2 for Windows (included) or later
* RAM installed:
16 MB of RAM (Windows 95)
32 MB of RAM (Windows NT)
* 80 MB or more of free hard-disk space for installation
* Super VGA display card
* CD-ROM drive

I use PI frequently. At least once in a vid for smaller additions to it, but it's nothing you really need.
