Problem "error occured with Vegas.System is low in memo

Postby Shenlongthetiger » Mon Aug 13, 2007 4:52 am

Hello all, I present my problem.
I decided to format my HDD bacause some problems then I reinstalled XP with the SP2. I have to reinstall Sony Vegas 7.0 with which I work and once installed I try to launch it and it balances me the following message: “An error occured starting Sony Vegas. The system is low in memory. You may be able to reduce memory usage by closing other applications.”

Whereas I have at least easy 20go of open space remaining on my HDD, knowing that I turn in P4 3Ghz with 1G of RAM. Thus could somebody how solve this problem please??

That's weird... Just try the usuals like re-installing it... and if you were like doing other things during install don't (idk why...but it couldn't hurt).

Yeah that´s really wired because Vegas doesn´t really eat much RAM like Premiere Pro does.

Try to shut down some processes in the background before you start the program.

Go to the Start-button of your Windows Desktop and go to "Execute" (I hope it´s called that way in the english version). Type in... "msconfig" and press ok. There you can tell the system wich programms and services should be started with launching the operating system. There is often a lot of bullshit what you´ll never need and that eats a lot of CPU and RAM.

With SP2 install you can leave your modem on (unless you know how to use a firewall properly), turn off your anti-virus software, close off all programs except explorer.exe and give it a run. If it won't start up with only that and explorer open well..
- Restart the PC
- Reinstall the Application
If the issue persists, you mentioned you have formated.. id defragment anyway, then run spybot and check for melware/adware/just basic spam, run a virus scanner and make sure that's all clean.

Problem persists? Buy more Ram, DDR2 if your motherboard can handle it.
