Ive heard many stories of people who video edit..

for some reason ive only heard this from people who video edit..that, there computers [the tower] spark and there motherboard blows up..is this the result of video edditing?..what can be done to prevent this? why does it happen?

Somehow, I don't believe that the video editing has much to do with that.

Video editing is very strenuous on hardware. If something is of poor quality or being overtaxed, like a power supply, it may cause it to fail. But simply video editing isn't going to kill your computer.

.. well yeah: over-clocked Processors and not enough memory while holding your Hot-Dogs on-a-stick over the computer makes for a great BBQ 8-)

.. 8-) hehe ... yeah; the stories you've been hearing about refer to older Server Towers and their lack of Air Circulation. Water cooling systems do help. but for the most part, any air-filtration unit forcing Cool Air into your computer can prevent overheating .. just remember to replace your filters every three months ( or take an Air Hose and blow-out the Dust from your computer every three months ) and you'll never have that problem 8-)

thel3gendkill3r either you're trolling or whoever told you that is retarded. Hardware failure can happen doing any task. Rarely do computers fail with showers of sparks.
