Postby vinyaya » Tue Jul 31, 2007 12:59 pm

okay so sry if I come across as stupid, but I am just starting to use MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 11, and I think that I need to use Photoshop for any masking...is there any tool in MAGIX that I can use to mask in the program like a pentool?

you didn't came as stupid. Magix does not have a pentool but it can do masking alright. You will need to right click on a video clip and then select video effects. There you will find several stuff that will help you.

Movie Edit Pro 11 has PSD capability, so doing your masking/rotoscoping would be best in Photoshop. Just save it as a PSD, (make sure you leave on the compatibility) and it imports just fine.

or if you don't have Photoshop, just use ms paint and save as .png; it will still preserve a transparent background, so you can go frame by frame with that :|

also try what M.H.A.Q.S. said because if you are lucky, your scene might have a black/white/green/blue background where you can chroma key it out by changing the threshold and fading range... making sure your scene is on top [higher track#] of the other one.

.. yes you can Chromo-Key in Magix 11 & 12 Pro; you set the Key the same you did in AiST products -- when you import them ^_^
