eva episode 23 & 24

Postby Gatsthedarksword » Sat Oct 19, 2002 11:59 pm

yeah i been watching evangellion via kazaa and i have almost every episode but i keep getting a bad file for episodes 23 and 24. so i figured i mean you guys are probably just gonna make stuff up but if you can give me a general idea of whats going on in those episodes. i really want to move on in the series becuase it's new and it's been forever since i had a new anime to watch.
but after seeing it up to that point it looks like nothing special and does more of pissing me off than any other anime i've seen. i mean shinji is a little bitch, asuka is in over her head and a typical woman in that type of situation, she gets pissed at everything eccept the guy she thinks is cute. and rei, well i got no complains with rei, she's cool but granted she is a doll and has the pesonality of a rock, she's still better than the others, and i know i already put alot of stuff in here but was anyone else wondering why they don't use the dummy plug more often, from the looks of it they could take any angel with the kind of moves he used against the black eva. he tore that thing apart.

Episode 23 Rei Self destructs Unit 0 to destroy the 16th angel and Shinji is told what rei and the dummy plugs are. Episode 24 the 17th angel comes as a human nd makes friends with Shinji who later has to squish him in Unit 01's hand. Actually episodes 23 & 24 are 2 of the most important. so if you want to se them I would just buy the box set. You can get it here for under $100: http://www.uln.com/cgi-bin/vlink/702727030826IE.html

actually you have nothing to move on to besides the movies :? ep 25 and 26 are just low budget reshowings of scenes with a bunch of psychobabble from the different characters.

yeah i tried to watch them cause i had to skip a few episodes earlier in the series and it seems as to not have any real importance per episode but just that you get the big picture and they broaden it a little bit in every one.

people at my school who have seen the whole thing claim the ending to be just a mind raper and has random crap going on, i don't know i think after berserk i'm ready for anything. anyway, thanks for the help i guess i just need to see them then.

End of Eva was, although this is difficult to say, more of a mind fuck than the end of Berserk. The last two eps however, are just stupid and pointless.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

the second time seeing them (after having seen end of eva) I think I appreciated them a bit more, mostly because when you watch the whole series and then the two endings right afterwards, the series ending does fit the feel of the series more. However the first time I saw the series ending the thought that came to me was 'so this is what they meant by low budget' because you have to admit it is just a bunch of cheap animation.

I didn't like them the first time I saw them, but I liked them after seening EoE.
They during EoE so it makes sense that they don't sense if you haven't seen EoE, or something. :?

i guess eoe puts most of our desires to see third impact to rest leaving us to enjoy the emotional aspect of the series end
yeah, something like that 8)

I personally loved the last two episodes of Evangelion. The first time through it did feel like my mind was being raped, but the next time I watched them I really enjoyed them. I still laugh everytime time I hear Rei ask Asuka if she is riding Shinji's balogny pony. ^-^

I love the series ending. True, EoE may wrap up some of the narrative aspects, but the series ending handled the aspects that were the most important: the character development and psychological study. Plus, the series ending is so much more positive than EoE. EoE just hurts the mind to watch it.

Yeah, I agree, I loved the series ending, but I detest the movie ending. Not that the movie isn't good in it's own right, I just prefer the series ending, where they DON'T kill off my favorite character ^^.

the series ending did seem a lot warmer after watching both consequently. BUT, i also noticed that EoE takes on a different feeling depending on the mindset you have when you watch it. I noticed that if you sit down intending to watch it cuz you're bored and you wanna watch a movie while letting your mind drift and thinking about what to say to the hawt girl in chemistry class tomorrow then it'll be a total mindfuck. But if you watch it because its a kick ass end of the world flick with all kinds of religious symbolism and a great ending to the evangelion series or when you're just pissed at people in general I've found it to be incredibly good. So generally its not a good movie to watch for the fun of it but on the other hand a great movie to watch as the end of eva (duhhhh :3 )
