Opinions for life for anyone that can help me rip this DVD

Postby ccwarnick » Sun Jul 22, 2007 1:55 am

Seriously, what the hell is Geneon's problem?!?!?

I have tried every means possible that I am aware of to try and rip the Hellsing Ultimate volume 2 DVD, I swear its impossible, is there something I'm missing?

I am currently using Ripit4me in conjunction with DVD decrypter and I have even ran the VOB's through FixVTS and nothing works, I can get the files off the DVD but it crashes DG index when I try and load them, nothing has worked and I am desperate.

Has anyone been able to rip this DVD? if you can lead me to a program/method that works I swear I will opinion every video you have. I know its some how possible because I have seen the ISO for the dvd on torrent sites, I would rather not resort to downloading it since I already bought the damn thing.

I guess I will continue to BS with this until find an answer, thanks in advance.

.. DVDfab works 100% for me ... DGindex has never worked properly for me.

I'm old-school and I rely on programs that have proven themselves to me.
.. I've used this combination over the past four years:

1) DVDfab
2) VirtualDubMOD
3) CorePNG codec
4) AiST Extreme 4.0
edit

.. it is possible that your not getting a good RIP from that DVD.

Yup, tried DVDfab as well with the same results, crashes because it doesn't let it read the first VOB for the main movie. The disk is brand new and plays on my comp and dvd player flawlessly, although I wont discount it as a possibility its just doubtful.

I have never had problems with DGindex before and its needed to get an accurate editing source. Older programs are probably not going to work, the current copy protection is pretty new and the programs that were wrote for it were forcibly shut down, the most recent version of them is from April of this year.

You could try AnyDVD and its built-in ripper. They should have a trial available.

lol, ok.

Although I did check out Haze over Osaka and Trauma. Despite not liking Azumanga Daioh at all it did make me laugh (and Jimi Hendrix is a pimp).

Trauma was quite the video, kind of a surreal creepiness, good stuff.

Anyway, thanks again for the info and keep up the good work.

Well AnyDVD was just was allowed me to rip it correctly. The program doesnt have any where near as many options as DVD Decrypter, I ended up ripping the dvd with AnyDVD, burning that to a blank dvd and then ripped that with DVD Decrypter to get the VOB files split by chapter.

For almost all other cases I still far prefer DVD Decrypter.
