My sister calls me Ari. She tries to make her kid call me Aunt Ari.
What's sad is that she's not internet savvy and we don't talk about anything anime related (she hates anime). My roommate used to call me Ari, so my sister picked it up without knowing the context.
My friends in highschool called me Rose. That might not count as a nickname since it's my middle name.
The guys at college called me Art. We marked all are work with innitials - mine happen to spell a word.

Oh, and as far as my pet name pet peeves -
In Russian, never call me Zhora (another possible derivation). NEVER. Likewise don't start on the "Yuri" thing, yes I know "Yuri" and "Georgiy" historically come from the same name, but I'm not fucking Yuri and don't try to convince me otherwise
And no "Curious George" or "Georgie" in English. "George of the Jungle" - maybe. I'm usually more tolerant to that
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

At work they call me Hitler or Short Little Gestapo Leader.
I've got tons of pet peeves, but I try not to think about them. Every time one occurs is a reminder to me.

Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

pet name pet peeve - I cant stand the pet name "baby" to me it doesn't sound right, it doesn't make sense and its just annoying
but then again the connotation for me is screaming, crying, whining, dirty diapers, messy eaters, and overall brats that throw a fit when they don't get their own way all of the time (theres a reason I haven't had any babies of my own yet)
I can see how some women/men might be connected to such an image, but I'd like to think (or perhaps hope) that most adults have grown up since their infant/toddler stage, though yea...
I donno its just always irked me when someone called me "baby" or just uses it in general as a pet name for an adult human.
Its always made me want to punch someone in the stomach - usually the person using the pet name to begin with.
