Not bad! Whose fireworks were they?
I took the metro into DC with some friends to watch fireworks for the first time in years. The place was just as mobbed as I remembered from past times, but we found a good spot at the bottom of the Lincoln Memorial. As a kid, I used to set off roman candles from my balcony in Shanghai (the place was a pyro's paradise during the month of Chinese New Year), so fireworks here hadn't been able to impress me much. Last night's show managed to surprise me though. I guess it was the combination of the good view and good feeling of hanging out with friends on a nice night.
