Problems with VirtualDub and VirtualDubMod

Postby Ally aka izumi » Sun Jun 24, 2007 10:11 am

I've been having problems recently with compressing AVI files using VirtualDub. Everytime I try to compress, I get a message saying "Statsfile not found!" and then later "Cannot start video compression: the operation is not supported (error code - 1)". This has never happened to me before and I'm not sure what either message means or what to do to fix this. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated or if anyone has another method of compression please let me know.

What are your compression settings? From the "Statsfile not found", it sounds like you've got your codec set to encode a 2nd pass and it can't find the stats file from the 1st pass (perhaps because you never encoded it in 1st pass mode).

Well, don't I feel like an idiot now. I did indeed have it set to 2nd pass...

Heh, thank you for bringing that to my attention.
