Converting to uncompressed AVI...huge file size...

Postby anurok » Sat Jun 23, 2007 2:51 pm

I am trying to convert some files to use with premiere 1.5 to a Lagarith lossless codec file. However, I am converting Bleach episode 52-53 and so far it is at 6GB and it is not done decoding...

How come the file size is so freaking massive for one episode? It is going to be nearly 10GB for these two episodes once its said and done...

Is this standard? The original file was only 200MB and now its jumping to almost 10GB...

Am I doing something wrong?

I am using the lagarith codec and EO Video converter...

please help =( I don't have an infinite HD...

thats standard.... cut them down to clips and take only the clips you need and you can save room...

im sure theres plenty of spots in those episodes that have talking that youre not going to use

ah ok. I just wanted to make sure that I was not doing something I shouldn't have been.

I was starting to wonder how you all keep so much anime encoded like this on your HDs haha

Nitpickiness: If you're using the Lagarith codec (or HuffYUV, or what have you), it's not uncompressed.

While all uncompressed video is lossless, not all lossless video is uncompressed.

DVD backups of processed vobs stored as data are useful as well. Especially if you borrow or rent a lot of anime.
