So what did you all thing of the "New and Improved" Video Events this year? This was an amazing year. I felt the contests were very impressive with such a high(er)
quality of entries and no problems during playback, now that we're digital. There were a bunch of really great videos and everyone should check them out.

However, Chris and I really want/need your feedback on any and every aspect of these events. Things are changing fast and it is only 2 years before Akon's 20th Anniversary. We want to do something special that year. So give me your comments, ideas, suggestions, criticisms .... we would also like ideas on new kinds of events you would like to see and participate in. So lets us know!

It "was" and "is", but we got that video and no body knew what the hell to do with it because it is a live action video using some japanese soap opera tv show set to a japanese song. But it was edited so well, we all thought it was a real professional music video.

I don't know what this person was thinking sending us a full live-action video with no anime or anime references in it, but since we didn't know how to categorize it, it was decided to simply be given an honorable mention instead of being completely omitted.

If that was your intention, it worked, because we were dumbstruck as to what to do with it. It was just too good to completely remove simply for being a live-action music video, even though it has absolutely nothing to do with anime. So, congratulations and well done.

NO it doesn't count, because nobody has ever heard of this show or knew that there is an anime version. We didn't have a proper category to fit it in. He should have used the ANIME source and not the LIVE-ACTION if we were meant to judge it appropriately. Remember, vitually all of the judges are "anime illiterate", people from completely different backgrounds meant to critique your videos in and of themselves, nothing more.

At the very least ScoobINSMDBZ should have mentioned upon submission that his source was based on an anime series.

But you know, this might be a good idea to pass on and see if we can make a category for videos which use live action shows based on anime like:
