Why are you exporting uncompressed? You should be using a lossless codec like lagarith or huffyuv, and why are you using DV settings with 720x480? What's your aspect ratio supposed to be?

I'm trying to enter the video into a contest and those were the settings they told us to use. I've cleaned up a lot of it so it looks much better now. I'd still love to know why virtualdub makes it look so good before exporting.

Are you saving an XviD file from VDub? If so, what are the settings?

That's your pixel aspect ratio (which for AMVs should be 1.0 anyhow). What is your video aspect ratio? ie, 4:3, 16:9, 221:100....

I completed the video to my satisfaction.

I found something out as I was playing around with Premiere, I found that there is an option called "flicker removal" which cleared up a lot of the jagged edges I saw on the characters. This helped out a lot. Also yes, I did save as an XVid file because it saved a great deal of space and allowed me to meet the space requirements to put it on Youtube. I could post the URL for the Youtube video if you like so you can see the video.

My pixel aspect ratio was 0.9, my video aspect was 4:3, I used the standard NTSC settings.

For some reason it won't let me say Y*utube here. That's what I mean in my last post instead of whatever that other word is.

I used this guide when preparing my XVid compression. I followed these settings pretty exactly, and I ended up having to do two passes to get it under 100 Mb.

There's a wordfilter on You-tube. We don't like that place.

That's unfortunate, would you still like the URL to see it?

if its an anime music video you should list it here... no fair taking advantage of people helping you and not helping this site to further its goal of listing every amv ever made :(

Good point. I just wasn't sure people would want to download it and take up space on their computer, so I tried to offer them an alternative, but I'll definitely upload it tonight.
