Postby BurningLeaves » Mon May 21, 2007 10:31 pm

Hi, this is the second time im trying to rip a dvd. My first attempt took forever but I was basically sucsessfull. I had to drop down vid quality to be able to un encode to get Virtual Dub to stop crashing.. but in the end i got useable footage. Now im trying to do another DVD but im coming across a completelly diffrent problem. On the dvd I am trying to use now 1/2 the VOB files come up with an error message and the few VirtualDubMod were able to read looked like this Iv delt with interlacing before.. but nothing like this 99% of my video looks like this

Iv checked through the guides but I didnt see anyone mentioning a problem that looked quite as bad as this Does anyone have and idea? Thanks for reading

Looks like the ripper failed to decrypt the video correctly. What ripper were you using?

Personally, I usually use SmartRipper; but on some disks (like Hellsing), the decryption fails, so I use DVD Decrypter for those instead, and that works.

Thank you for trying to help me out... Well I dont know much about decrypting... In fact I know nothing. So I went into the disc and put the VOBs dirrectlly into VirtualDubMod.. and thats what I got.. Was that the wrong way to do it?

Yes, that is incorrect. You need to decrypt the dvd first. Use a program like DVDdecrypter to decrypt your dvds. It should still be in the AMVapp.
