Combining two separate clips

No matter what I try, the "combine" option never works for me when I want to join two clips together...what should I be selecting in order to get this option to be displayable?

Both clips should be selected simultaneously with Ctrl + click. Then you should be able to combine them.
Or you could just shove them next to each other on the timeline which has a similar effect.
