Atlanta Anime Day

Postby Mr Pilkington » Sat Jun 27, 2009 7:34 pm

Any other Atlanta area editors going to bother tomorrow? It looks likes its going to be a swap-meet dealers' room with some naruto cosplay. None the less I'll give it try since it's just up the street. I still have some freebe tix for anyone who wants to meet up before hand. We're also planning a lunch meet up.

this was the first I heard of its date. I heard about it at AWA staff meetings...

Yeah, I was bored to death.
It was a dealer's room the size of my apartment... literally. If that was 2000 sq/ft I'm the Czar of Poland. AWA was representing |:> and thank god weren't sold out like momo's faggotry. There were No DVDs, only used manga, the rest was all needless trinkets and the usual combo of cheap-imitation weapons, virgins and American comic books. I've seen more anime related paraphernalia at the buford highway flea market. We waited in line 15-20 minutes, bought nothing, and after 30 minutes in (less than an hour after it started) driven out by the wreak. It was a scaled down version of DragonCon minus the cost.

My final thoughts: Another decent anime convention in Atlanta wouldn't be unwelcomed at all... but thus far everything pales. Period. No need for comparison.
