OTAKON HOTEL BOOKED............but there is still hope :D

Ok well here is the 411, info, data, poop, lowdown or whatever you care to call it.

The Days Inn is officially BOOKED as in no more rooms available, for Otakon. This is kinda funny because room rates have not even been released yet it's already full.

Ok, so here is where we get into the little details about why I even bothered to make this post. The reason the hotel is booked is 1) it's location. It is right across pratt st. from the Howard st. lobby (the place where reg happens. Oh yeah, more on reg later in this post), and 2) the Days Inn is the hotel used by the Staff of Otakon (for the same reason, it's location I assume).

Anyway, yours truly (that's me) happened to book a room in December, and just happen to have two spots open. So far there are 4 of us in the room. 3 guys and 1 girl. WE ARE AN EXUAL OPITUNITY(sp?) CON ROOM (we gata say that, damn govt!). Any way the price for a spot is $100 for he weekend. That covers from about 3pm thursday night to Sunday at about 11am. And I will try to weasle 6 keys away from the hotel people so that everyone can have a key (as far as they know there are only 2 ppl in the room). Also, I would require payment before the actual con itself that way I can cover my own ass come time to pay the bill.

Now back to that thursday thing. It seems that the fine folks at OTakon have been listening to your complaints via the after con rap-up and "bitch" sessionthey have every year after the con. One of the big issues last year was registration. It seems that a good number of cons have started to impliment "Thursday Registration" for folks that has the for sight to register early. So this year for Otakons tenth anniversery, the staff is looking into opening registration on thursday night for those who pre-registered for the con. Nothing has been made official yet, so there is a possibility it may not happen, but so far all signs look good.

Thank you for your time, and I'll see you at the con!
