Hello everyone,
I am please to announce the creation of NeoAniCon, a new anime convention that's being planned by me with help with some forum members from another forum that I'm a member of and some personal friends of mine. We are currently trying to find a location for the convention in the Baltimore area. We're considering of possibly having it in a hotel. We are currently looking for funding for this project. There are current plans to file for a U.S. Trademark on the name of our convention, NeoAniCon, the cost for filing a U.S. Trademark is $335.00. Also we have plans to register a domain name for our convention at www.neoanicon.com , now because of the various domain name registration services, the cost for registering a domain name varies. We also need staff members as well. NeoAniCon, what does it mean? Well Neo is New, Ani is an abbreviation of Anime, and Con is an abbreviation of Convention. We are going to start it out small then let it grow gradually until we get to a point of having it in the Baltimore Convention Center. As we are in the early planning stages for this convention, things are subject to change and we do not have a estimated date yet for our convention, we're thinking of having it during Spring Break.
For Staff Members, staffing will have sections that people can select, there's a limit of the number of people that we can accept for the sections. The minimum number is 5 and maximum is 10 [subject to change]. The categories I'm thinking of for staffing currently is: Legal Issues, Dealer's Room, Video Room, Security, Publications, Website Manager, Website Editor, Photography, Videography, Japanese Guest Relations, American Guest Relations, Press/Industry Relations, Registration, Video Gaming, Workshops, Correspondance Secretary, Treasurer, Comptroller, and Dance.
The convention is in the early planning stages so the list of categories are subject to change at anytime. I'll post any additions or deletions when we know of any. Also the number of people who are allowed in one category are also subject to change.
