Need a ride from ATL to AWA

Postby The Wired Knight » Mon Sep 10, 2007 3:17 pm

Ok so my flight into Atlanta takes me in around 9:18 pm.

Could somebody possibly give me a ride from there to the
Renaissance? I'm kind of stuck at this point and there is a problem I know with my arrival time conflicting with the dinner but will anybody be around that could help me out on this?

You can always take the shuttles.

Yeah, you can travel from the airport to the Cumberland Mall next to the convention center (connected via a tunnel) by Marta but it sounds like you will get there late, so be careful if you do this.

Yes, but to go via marta you have to travel an hour to Lindbergh and its at least another hour on bus; Or so I can imagine, I honestly have never done the bus half.

I can call around for you and get a quote on taxi fair. But it'll be steep unless you can split it w/ someone.

Based on the times, it's 50 minutes by rail and then 40 by bus (Based on the schedule times.. Hence 90-100 minutes of travel tiem.. First time I might actually consider doing this....

Do those schedules cover wait time at the bus station? I know I took the rail/bus route the first year at the Waverly. I wasn't sure where I was going. Not to mention I had to drag my luggage through cumberland mall, over the skywalk, and around the hotel to an open entrance. That year, I took the shuttle back to the airport, and then every year I flew since then, I took the shuttle round-trip. It just wasn't worth the hassle for me.

yes, but it's tight so you're probably right... As for the Shuttle, I know it's cheaper then a shuttle (I did take one from the hotel a few times when I did not have to leave so early in the morning).. However, Where do you go at the airport to get shuttle service so you don't end up with a taxi and a expensive ride...

I just went out to the shuttle area and asked about the Renaissance Waverly, and they pointed me at the proper company. If I recall, it was $35 one way and $40 or $45 round-trip. (you pay up front and they give you a ticket good for the return trip). I drove last year, so I don't remember what company it was. I'm driving again this year, too.
