I'll be heading to Otakon. Till I can afford enough money to fly across the country to AX I plan to attend Otakon, ACEN, and Ohayocon reguarly. I technically could afford to go to AX if I canceled Otakon and ACEN but I'd rather do 2 cons rather then just 1. Plus I've had a great time at both ACEN cons I went to and Otakon was a blast year.

As for videos, I hope to have my second video done for that one, so maybe if I get lucky that'll make it into overflow. Before I worry about that video, though, I should finish #1 which I'm submitting to ACEN.

I'm hoping to attend.

I'm in SA so I have to fork out 'bout R20 000 for flights and expenses.

This will be a live experience for me so I REALLY hope to come right.

Guess we'll see what happens.

I'm going to Otakon 2003, I live in Baltimore City, Maryland, not too far from the Baltimore Convention Center :).

I've attended Otakon 2001 and 2002 and had a great time, I hope I will have a great time at this Otakon as well as seeing this will be Otakon's 10th year anniversary.

Also, BTW, if anyone is interested, Otakon wants to hear fan responses in who they want to see at Otakon 2003, you can find more information and a email address here: http://www.otakon.com/guests.html

I sent in a few names already, I hope Otakon will consider them.

Well if you have a credit card you can reserve one right now. But the 2 they have up are two of the higher priced ones. A little closer to the time of the con, they usually have up one that is under $100/a night that is a bit farther away from the con. That one goes fast...gotta keep watching  It's all off their web site....geez I am getting all excited now.

Hell I booked a room back in december at the Days Inn, and it's already been filled up even before they listed that hotel on the con site if that is any indication.

Yeah, I'll have a vid this year also. Chances are it will make the contest (not win anything, but then again I don't care about winning. My goal is to get it to the largest audiance possible), but then again I suck so who knows?

Well, from what I hear, AX isn't all that great. It's too commercial to be any real fun. It's more like an industry con. Kinda like how E3 is for games.

I personally enjoy the smaler cons like Neko (big fish in a little pond). Went to that in 2002 and had a ball! Before that al I had been to was Otakon(little fish in a big pond). Oh yeah, AX is like (fish out of watter), lol.

I'll be making the 10-minute drive on all three days again :) I doubt I'll have a video done in time for the contest, but you never know!
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

Very cool. I look forward to seeing you again? I am working on something now that might actually make it to the contest this year. After my first two vids (if you can calll them that) I took some time out to learn the software a bit, and learn about vdub and huffy and all that to help me improve.

I'm using superimposing for the first time (so this vid will be a learning experiance). So my superimposed images are nothing like yours. I have no clue how you got the stuf to superimpose so well. Anyway I'm using After Effects for masking (only thing I really know how to use it for asside from 1 or 2 effects). Guess eventually I should buy a book for it, lol.

I'm worse. I was asked ot be staff for Otakon last year but turned it down because I had already made plans for the weekend. And this year, so I can be in the AMV contest, instead of pushing the subject with Joe (the current con chair, and the guy who recommended me last year) I just decided to gopher. That way I can get a feal for being staff withough commiting to anything.
