Revenge is like a poison it can take us over and before you know it, it can turn you into something ugly.

http://www.youmacon.com/ in Troy
JAFAX (too lazy to look for site) at Grand Valley State university
Con Ja Nai at University of Michigan

there's also people from michigan (like me) who go to cons in other states and probably are glad to lend a hand in getting a fellow otaku there. Anime Central (Chicago) and Anime Weekend Atlanta (Georgia) are two.

That's all I really know right now...

Jafax isn't really a con as more of an event/expo. As far as I remember it's free to get in (unlike a con) and only 2 days long. It wont be running again until next summer most likely.

Youmacon is in November of this year, from the 11-13, in Troy. More info can be gotten from the website that Brsrk gave. We are having an AMV contest and an Iron Editor competition, both of which I am coordinating. If you have anything feel free to submit and compete. Information for those can be found linked in my signature.

There are a few threads about Youmacon on these forums, but they keep getting lost under other threads.

There is also Trinity Con, which is in October, but it is more of a Gaming convention then an anime convention, but they do have anime events.

The website for JAFAX is www.jafax.org

They are currently in unwind and planning stages, and don't have much info on their site. They did put the dates for JAFAX 11 on the site, though.

October 29 = Con Ja Nai at the University of Michigan. It's a one day event we've done for the last 12 years (we are older than AWA!).

I wouldn't mind going to Con Jai Nai if I wasn't already going to Suigoi-con... I sent a video into the contest anyway.
