Hi Gene Starwind 2112 here again. Proudly Announcing Ani-Quest 1. The first anime convention in the Anne Arundel County area. The convention will be located in Severna Park Maryland at Anne Arundel Community College. We have alot of stuff already planned such as AXC (Anime Xtreme Challenges), AMV Contest, AMV Pannel, How to Draw Pannels, Kendo Deminstration, Anime Screenings, Plus a Live Concert by Crimson Orchid and more. You can find out more about them at their website. They are a great band. Plus of course we will have dealers there and a T-Shirt of the convention if you wish to purchase (price to be determined). However since we are working with limited space we have to put a cap on the number that can attend and it will be around 600 people, but if we fill up this year then we'll look into moving the convention somewhere else. The convention will be only a 2 day convention Sat. and Sun. 10 am - midnight. Weekend in October to be announced.
More information will be posted on the convention as it becomes available.

Update Rules for Ani-Quest 1
Weapons THAT ARE NOT Permitted
NO LIVE STEEL at all will be permitted on the premises of the AACC.
Live steel is defined as swords, knives, bayonets, and/or other objects made of metal, which can take an edge. This holds true regardless of whether the object is actually sharp. This includes star knives/shurikens.
There will be NO GUNS of any kind permitted. There are to be no:
Pellet guns
Water guns
Air Guns
Replicas of actual guns
Real guns
Mini or Pistol crossbows
Stun guns
Dart or Blowguns.
Minors may not possess any air rifle, air gun or BB gun. Discharge of any toy gun is prohibited within the city of Baltimore.
Exceptions to Item 2.
Easily identifiable toy plastic guns with no moving parts and that have a clearly visible non-removable orange tip will be permitted.
Resin models will be permitted as long as they are marked with clearly visible non-removable orange tip.
The person carrying the pistol is a Maryland law enforcement agent who is on duty.
(Please keep in mind Maryland State Law has a silhouette law. Therefore you are at your own risk when carrying anything that resembles a gun.)
Nunchakus are not permitted.
There are to be no explosives or chemicals of any kind, including but not limited to smoke powder, sparklers and fireworks.
Weapons Permitted
Wooden weapons that are permitted:
staffs
walking sticks
bokken and other wooden swords.
Fake or made-up weaponry (example: made of tissue paper, plaster of Paris, cloth) are permitted if they are safe and not dangerous to the other con-goers around you. For example, dangerous conditions include but are not limited to wires sticking out, items that trip passersby, clothes lining a member, etc.
Please limit the size of the weapons to less than 8 feet in height and weighing less than 250 pounds.
Behavior with weapons
Misuse of any wooden weapon, such as swinging it in a public area or causing hazards to passerby, will get your privilege revoked immediately.
If we deem a weapon to be unsafe for the con, we will ask you to store the unsafe weapon in your private quarters (i.e.: your room or car). If there is a repeat offense, we will escort you out of the convention and off of convention grounds so that you can place the weapon in your private quarters; if the weapon is illegal, we will turn it in to the appropriate authorities.
Any weapon purchased in the dealers' room that is boxed, should remain boxed and stored in your private quarters. Weapons are not to be taken out of their packaging or wrappings while at the convention.
All objects brought into the convention may be checked and considered by AniQuest staff. You may be asked to have your weapons peace bonded at the con.
All questionable items will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Anything deemed illegal outside the convention is deemed illegal inside the convention premises. All of AniQuest's staff decisions on weapons are final. Policy maybe subject to change without prior notice.
We thank you for your cooperation.
