I remember going across the street from the Sheraton at AWA this year to the Ruby Tuesdays (as that was the only food place within walking distance, which greatly annoyed me as the in-hotel food costs were insane) and seeing a great many people staring at a few of the Sorceror Hunters cosplayers.

Yeah, that'd do it!

At least there's no shortage of food joints at Easton... Johnny Rockets, McDonald's, Panera, Restaurant Japan, Gameworks...

And for those of us of legal age, Fado Irish pub is to die for.

ah.. yes. Gameworks.

I might end up there or at the Final Frontier Arcade quite a bit (thats assuming they prob wont let me play DDR in double mode a whole lot at the actual con. :P )

...and then again I prob wouldn't go to Gameworks since I believe they charge you an arm and a leg to play.

Looks like its the Final Frontier Arcade for me if I get bored :P (pretty close too)

All anime conventions should have alternative food sources... I think they said the food at AWA would have ultimately been 10 bucks a person for a small meal... I just lived on junk food stock.

Would someone post the list here - unless you've been asked not to. I'd like to add this contest to my list (click on the link in my sig).

Thanks!

Muahahahaha!!!

apparently the Final Frontier Arcade now has DDR EXTREME... and is still open 24hrs a day :P

only being 5 miles from the convention I think I can easily swing that.

See you all at the con. I will, of course, have my badge.

And now the waiting period for con results begins, as the con itself has as well.

I've been sitting here trying to get some work done, but my mind keeps drifting...

If the list that was e-mailed to the participants is also the playlist order, my video should have already shown by now - provided they started on time.

Yup. Mine should have been shown about 80 minutes ago, if the list was the play order and the showing started on time. Waiting for the results is gonna be agony... I so wish I could have been there.

You guys are gonna love this.

Friday night, they lost the ballots for the amv contest and there was NO voting. The Saturday contest showing (and last one might I add) starts in 40 minutes. I am home and going to go to sleep since I stayed up til 4 Am thanks to Rich Lather and his giant bad animation party for 300 people :D so I won't know what they will do for voting.

Some brief things

-Audio this time was superb
BUT!!!
It was ruined by how they put the darn open mike night next door at the same time as the amv contest and the walls of course are the moving kind. In other words, half the time you heard some horrible screeching while the videos played. This began to get annoying half way through the AMV contest and ruined ( I think) the effect of some people's videos because the audience laughed at the howling a couple times..meaning they were missing the video.

The AMV panel was great but suffered the same problem sinec the video rooms were next to it and loud. And the video rooms messed up each other AND had the awful singers floating through there as well. If you look at the block of the layout on their site you will see why this was an issue.

Hallways were big this time, maybe that is why it seemed not as many people were there.

Anyway, if they don't find the ballots by 8 AM, who knows what they will do. I'll find out when the rest of you fols do since I am not going back the rest of the weekend.

I'll post more on the amvs later, but I have to say Earthcurrent's Dog of Flanders video choked me up and Cosmic studios was great Swing. Rich Lather had some good old school to show. Met Uncle Milo, Rich Lather...and some guy ^_^ Speak up random guy, you stood and talked with us for 15 minutes and I forgot your forum name.

quoting Misty: "You guys are gonna love this."

Guess when they found the ballots?

at 2pm on Saturday, 3 hrs after the 2nd and final showing ended.

I talked to the guy in charge of the contest multiple times and it seems as though he is just going to do a staff vote.

I dont know if he'll anounce the winners at the con or not. I got back home an hour ago so there's no way for me TO know. :P

*goes to put a short Ohayocon writeup in amvdotorg journal*
