Convention Service Annoucment

This is to all the male cosplayers. I just found out from anime usa that you aren't suppost to have any signs with you saying to hug you or glomp you because the males aren't allowed to intiate the contact with the female. The female would have to intiate it first. Another thing is if you are playing a perveted character as Gene or Miruko (spelling) you aren't suppost to be acting perveted by touching other female rear ends. The reason I'm mentioning this is because I was cosplaying and I didn't see it anywhere in the rules saying you can't do it but a person really got offended. Eventhough I appologized to her, the ruling is that the female has to be the one to intiate the hug. I just got a warning for this eventhough I was attacking in character. But to all the others I did it to they weren't offended. I actually made them laugh and have a good time. Plus I had a group follow me around the convention which was cool. Anyway just to warn everyone out there so you don't get in trouble for doing it.

Just letting everyone know because there are many people doing it and it seems to be a growing thing.

Being "in character" doesn't excuse sexual assault.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

If people were to hold up signs, they need to say "Please kick my ass".

See now this was my first time doing this and I've learned not to do it. That's why I'm trying to get the message out there so it doesn't affect conventions. Everyone is entitled to mistakes and well I thought there was no problem with it because others were doing it and there was no policy at the convention at the time, but that's in the past and this is now. Let's change our ways of how we conduct ourselves at conventions.

Um, yeah... would you ever even consider doing something like that to girls you didn't know anywhere else?

I mean, I think I'd get pretty offended too.

Sheesh, people.

I wouldn't do it anywhere else, but I've had girls do it to me and I don't take offense to it because it is a convention and your suppost to have fun. But if it was anywhere else I would be freaked out. Anyway like I said it was my first and last time doing something like that. I took it to far and I just want to get the message out there of not to do it. So please stop bashing me in for something I reget doing.

Whoa.

If anyone ever did that to me, I'd probably immediately start looking around for the nearest con staffer.

If anyone ever did that to me, I'd probably immediatley start looking around to see if anyone saw me knock them out!

Yeah, I'd be offended that someone would think they had any right to grab me!

Maybe I'm too leanent because it is a convention and I know people just want to have fun and they aren't truely like that. Maybe I'm more open to things. Everyone has a different feel on things. But like I said you willn't see me doing it any more because now I know people aren't as open as I am when it comes to conventions.

Yeah...unless it was a hot chick with a "Free Sex" sign, I'd be onboard with that.
