How about organizing one?

That would solve your problem... but recognize it will take ALOT of work...

I agree. No matter how often you ask where one is, no one is going to put together a con until you make the first step.

And it's not impossible- IF you aim small. Find a University Anime club (or two) that has the motivation to help you. Talk to the university istelf about renting its space during the summer months. Most first cons are held out of Uni's with the attendies staying in the dorms for 20 bucks a night.

Start SMALL. Animaritime had its first con this year in Manitoba (I believe) and made 1000$ profit. Now thy have that seed money to plan next years and make it that much larger.

And ask for help. Ask how other cons did it, what people would like to see, and find out who in your area is into anime. You may be surprised!
And if you do set out- GOOD LUCK!

Just wanted to point out that Animaritime, which is run by my anime club, is actually in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada, not Manitoba.
