You'll attract sniveling dorks..
In line right behind me was this girl who had come on her own. (she was reasonably cute I guess), the whole time there were these clouds of weird guys that kept coming up to her and hitting on her. It was like she had a sign or something, I've never seen a feeding frenzy like that. One guy kept comming up and standing really close, and then when after comparing himself to his jewish grandfather, asking about what color she painted her toenails (really), couldn't think of anything clever to say, just kept saying "I can't think of anything to say" and "Am I boring you?"
You know how, when one person in a group of people is all sweaty for no reason at all it's sort of... creepy. It was like that.
As for the gameboy, I only wish I'd thought to bring it. That line was all pure hell. What was the deal with moving the lines sideways, just to make room for yet more lines? When I went to siggraph, there were almost as many people there, but the registration process was so easy and fast that it felt like a walkthrough. Maybe the guys from AX need to take some lessons.
The anime showings were sort of funky too, as they forgot to switch shows, or showed some without subs, or whatnot.
This was my first AX, are they normally like this?
