Otakon 2004 AMV Creator Get-Together

Postby hackerzc » Mon Jun 07, 2004 8:46 am

Well, Here it is June and all, and I have yet to see any posts about who all is doing what (asside from the Corbo Bash.... which is private anyway), and I've been to bussy messing with contest stuff (for Otkaon AND Nekocon) to really get in contact with anyone. So I figured I would get the ball rolling.

Let's start off with Dinner Thursday night..... who's gona be there and what times are good for people?

I'm currently working on my flights, but if it's anything like last year, I imagine I won't be in till like 7 or 8. I'm *trying* to get an earlier arrival time, but don't wanna miss two days of work and was hoping to do a halfday thursday.

Also isn't that time around when we'd be wanting to get our pre-reg badges?

Either way, I'm interested.

Last year we all met up after getting out pre-reg badges; it's the best option, since, while the line is long Thursday evening... it's absolutely ridiculous Friday morning. We all met up right outside the pre-reg area around 10 pm when it all ended. I'm assuming something along those lines would work best, again.

I'll likely be working all day and evening Thursday :/

I'll probably be working most of the day Friday, too. I'll probably just arrive in time for the AMV contest. There's generally a gathering of creators outside the contest screening afterwards.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

Or we could go to lunch after the AMV panel Saturday morning. I know that's what we did last year and it worked alright. A bit busy in the food court, but we were more or less together.

You have to work...

Must remember to look out for these gatherings this year. I don't think I'll be coming in until Friday (father's taking the whole family plus Cyanna again like last year), so I won't be at any Thursday dinners.

That was really a mess too, though...it took an hour to find anywhere that was open and we got to the place right at last call. Maybe we should all go for dinner on Friday during the formerly-occupied-by-MAT3K time...

Yeah I like this.... and don't worry Kusoyaro, I'm sure plenty of people will want to do stuff other days too. Just needed to start somewhere ^_^

Yeah that was a bit annoying. But if everyone else really wants to I'm still in.

I missed this.... prolly cause I was gophering or something (yeah, I did my service.... GOPHERING GUARANTEES CITIZENSHIP! Next stop, Klendath.....er... Baltimore). Hope I can make it this year though. I need to find out from Matt when the pannel and workshop are, because I am pretty sure the AMV Workshop is happening after the AMV pannel, but I don't know if it's directly after or not. I know myself Vic and Alan Chaess are suposed to be doing the workshop (possibly with Quu there) and I believe Geoff said he is going to moderate.

I'll figure it out.

Vlad

I'll actually be there this year. With all the parody and contest stuff I've been doing lately I haven't had time or interest to make videos out of some of my ideas. Maybe listening to you guys will get me in the mood to make more (and hopefully MUCH better) videos. For me, I need to be in the right state of mind to edit. Otherwise it feels like work and not fun.

Ah well, I'm done running at the mough... sorry for double posting.... again.
Ian or Tim or who EVER is taking over the site for Phade.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE enable the "edit" button for posts ^_^

Bla Bla Bla

Postby MousePotato » Tue Jun 08, 2004 8:03 am

Anybody staying at the Radisson Plaza? I am with like five other people in one room. (can anybody say sleeping bag?)

No but seriously though, I'll be arriving at around 4'ish on thursday for the pre-reg line.

By the way, I tryed to pre-reg online via credit card and I got to the point where it was processing the credit thingy or something like that. My question is weather or not I suggseccfully payed or not and how and who should I contact in order to find this out or not? (I would Atempt it again but I don't want to take the chance of buying another one if I did it right the first time)

Once agian you can Identify me by my Black Sun Productions Hoody or tee-shirt (Iorn-ons rule!)

I suggest taking a few minutes to read all the threads on this subject over at the Otakon Message Board (Registration Required).

I'll be up there on Thursday as well, but damned if I know if they'll give me my badge before Friday morning or not (depends on whether or not they'll hand out for panelists or not).
