Anime Boston this year was very good. However, I think next time we are going to pre-pick the judges and panelists. The first Iron Chef was great: Otakuforlife vs. DOkool. Excellent heckeling(sp?) from our panelists, good judges, responsive audience. Otaku ended up winning. Because it turned out so well, we decided to hold a rematch on Sunday. Big mistake. Sunday is the worst day to have any panel, especially AMV Iron Chef. The only people who really showed up had no idea the amount of work AMVs require, even after both DOkool and Otakuforlife stated that average AMVs (competition quality) are 30+ hours of work. The judges were terrible, giving 0s and 3s for work done in ONE HOUR. They actually expected good lip-syncing! How pathetic! The videos were actually pretty good for an hour. DOkool actually won that one, despite the audience's response to Otaku's video. Not to say DOkool's videos weren't good; I actually enjoyed his second video a lot more than his first(the simplicity worked; it's a nice change to see from you, gave it "more of a soul"

)So now Brian and Dan are at one win each. This is where this post comes in: who saw the Iron Chefs at AB this weekend? What did you think? Also, we are planning on doing a rematch next year and we want panelists and judges. Obviously, panelists only need to be mildly serious, but really funny. Judges HAVE to be serious about this!!!!! Brian was the underdog this year, with a terrible computer. Next year I'm letting him use my laptop, so it will be an even match, so good judges are important. There will be two matches. I will need about three more panelists for each match and five different judges for both matches. Translation: I don't care if the panelists from the first panel are in the second, but I need DIFFERENT judges for the second match. Obviously, if that doesn't work, I nix that. We have a year to plan and I intend to use it! Anyone wishing to be a judge or panelist, pm me or im me at my YAHOO addy(my hotmail is too full). Also, we plan on posting the videos from both matches. Next year is important, because Otaku and Dokool are very evenly matched. The winner will get a better prize than a signed box of pocky(though they do get to keep the one from this year). Otaku, DOkool, if you want to pitch in money, I will buy an engraved trophy! Wow, this is really long. I should end it now.
