Though not specifically amv related, this is in a similar spirit so I thought it would be of interest...
There will be a screening of Studio Sokodei's popular fan parody Nescaflowne at Sakura Con 2004.
From the creators Evangelion ReDeath and Fanboy Bebop, Nescaflowne tells the story of Hitmi, an average Japanese high-school girl who finds herself spirited away to the magical world of Java, where conflict is brewing between the kingdom of Folgeria and the Starbach empire. Juan Valdez of Folgeria has discovered a secret ingredient that can conquer the market but he first he has to deal with giant brewers, his traitorous brother and a plot that makes no sense. Is it possible Hitmi has the key to change the world? Will she find true love and return home? Well... duh, but find out how she does it in Studio Sokodei's parody of "Escaflowne". It's an epic epic of epic proportions.
I'm not directly involved in Sakura Con programming, so I don't know when or where Sakura Con 2004 will be screening Nescaflowne - I just know that they will be showing it. Sometime. Somewhere. Somehow. If I find out before the con starts, I'll post an update. Otherwise, check out the following resources when you arrive at Sakura Con:
1. Sakura Con 2004 Schedule.
2. Sakura Con 2004 Information Booth. Fliers will be available.
Nescaflowne is approximately 60 minutes long.
Nescaflowne originally premiered at Fanime 2003
Cheers.
