Right, now that I've re-checked the submission guidelines, I can confirm that it's May 8. I was only confused because on the org's calander it says April 19...?

This demonstrates the value of not adding a contest to the calendar until the deadline has been officially announced.

I think the form actually says "by the end of Saturday, May 10th", which as anyone with access to a calendar can tell, was a) A few days ago and b)screwy to begin with because Saturday is in fact the 8th of May, not the tenth. I don't know if because of that error they will accept submissions that arrive on the 10th...all I know is mine arrived right where it should have a whole day early on Friday the 7th. So, I only have to wait and see what they think of my vid...

Man, even more stress than trying to get it done on time...

The deadline was actually Monday, May 10th. It was changed along the way, and not all the places got changed as they should have been, but Geoff very clearly stated it was the 10th several places.

Man I was so hoping to get into the contest this year. Unfortunately I was having creative issues with it, scrapped the project... working on a new one now anyway...

Oh well, always my commercial parody.

Thank God for that! XD

i had to re-submit mine because i made the mistake of using english dubbs in my video that i submitted to Otakon. I wasn't aware that they looked down on the use of them. So I had to go back and make necessary changes....and uploaded it to them last night.

now...the waiting game starts! >.<

Well it's stated pretty clearly in the TWELVE PAGES of rules. LOL, sorry I just can't get over the fact that the rules are so long this year..... even I don't know why.

Anyway once I get conformation of the final forms sent in I'll be sending out emails to everyone so we can get you fine folks on the mailing list.

Why dont we just extend the deadline till the day before Otakon . .. so all these lazy ass people can get their videos in ?

Im sorry to sound bitter, but an extended deadline is just an insult to all the Amv creators that took the time to make sure that they got their shit done ON TIME.

am I crazy on this issue?

I agree.. is doens't bother so much that people have their submissions post-marked on the 17th.. it's all those who decided to squeeze out/make a video during the extension time.. and had no interest in making a video and entering anything into the contest for the get-go.. until they heard about the deadline extension.

That's the part that's not too cool with me. ...and to top it off.. it will be insulting to the rest of submiters (who took the effort and followed the rules) if any of those type of submissions win an award during the contest.

IMO.. =)

I agree too. I really have no clue how or why it happend. Hell, I found out from a submitter!(thx btw Jon) I'm suposed to KNOW about this stuff.

I only think 7 people took advantage if this anyway. At least that's the number of forms that were recieved. So if you don't get an email by June 1st figure that something went wrong and we never got the entry.
