Conventions In The Northwest

Postby Lord Tarrant » Mon Jan 12, 2004 9:23 pm

Hey all, I'm kinda curious to know if there are any conventions near oregon. I would think Seattle might have one or maybe even Portland, but I am afraid to ask such things of people here because anime isn't very accepted in my neck of the woods. Anyway, just tell me of any conventions you know of anywhere near here. Anything on the west coast USA basically cause I don't expect anything to be near where I live.

These are the two better-known ones:
Sakura-Con (Seattle)
Anime Evolution (Vancouver BC)

The closest one to the south is probably FanimeCon (San Jose).

If you're willing to go as far as Los Angeles, there's Anime Expo.

Its a strange thing to see, that moment when the extraordinay, becomes ordinary.

Anime Evolution is pretty new. The first annual one was last year and it rocked! Its hosted at a University by a few different clubs around the Lower Mainland. Apparently, as conventions go, Anime Evolution is pretty cheap. It's just kind of annoying that the University(SFU) is on top the mountain. But translink it pretty good for getting up there.

Oh, and Anime Evolution is acutally located in Burnaby not Vancouver. No one outside's acutally heard of it though. . . .
