Anime Central 2003

Postby SephirothJenova » Wed Aug 07, 2002 12:44 am

Well, I just saw the Anime Central 2003 website today. It looks very interesting. I want to go, and early admission is only $25. It's near Chicago, so it's around a five hour drive from my place. I don't really have the money to get a room at the hotel, but I'm sure that I will figure something out. They have an anime music video contest, where I will probably enter into. There's also an art show, where I can show off some of my art. I just want to know, who else might be going?

I know I'm going to ACen. I'm going to cosplay as Afro dude from Excel Saga, and Parappa again.

I'll definitely try to go. I had a blast at the past 3 ACens.

I'd like to go. But it all depends on money and if anyone else will go with me. I went to the Anime Central 2001 convention on a Saturday. I met Scott McNeil and Kirby Morrow. Plus I bought stuff and watched some AMVs (such as the Boss of Me AMV and Fresh Prince of Tokyo). Oh and I took pictures of people cosplaying.
David Boreanaz (Angel) is Squall (Final Fantasy VIII) in Kingdom Hearts! David is Squall! Woohoo! The only thing better would be a vocal FFVIII with James Marsters (Spike on Buffy) as Seifer.

Acen was the first con I ever went to. And I haven’t missed it in 3 years. Having been to AX and Otakon (witch are the number 1 and 2 in volume) I think Acen (# 3) is the best because it is still run in a hotel like a small con. Any way, don’t try to sleep in the video rooms. I had a room at the hotel and when I fell asleep they just kept poking me.

Room...

Postby OmniStrata » Tue Aug 13, 2002 10:34 pm

I've been to ACEN twice.

I'm going with 3 friends for the whole weekend and we need others to share the room prices.

Being the humble warrior that I am, I'll probably sleep on the floor...

I'm still wondering if people will recognize a "Jin Kazama" cosplayer if he just had a black/white gi with sparring pads on hands/feet.

You think it'll work?

I don't have the "exact" black side/white side with the dragon on back, but it's a dual color b/w gi!

^_^

Plus I can just gel my hair back and up! I'll post a pic here later...

So who wants to share room?

I'll be there, and I hope to debut my new SMJ vid there as well. ACen was the second Con I've ever been too... alright, well there was this one I went to in Boston when I was doing the whole college tour thing with my mother, but I only went because she likes Star Trek and Shatner was there. Of course, Shatner was the only thing there... so that doesn't really count now, does it? So, GenCon was my first, and I've been to ACen twice (2001, 2002), but I ramble. Yes, going to AC2003. It's only twenty minutes away from where I live anyway.

I hope that someone will be able to take me in for the hotel. I'll pay, don't worry, but not too much. It's a 5 hours drive from my place, but I don't mind. It's my first convention and I'm going to have a blast. I'm in the St. Louis area, so if anyone going there can give me a ride, then it's greatly appreciated. I can drive myself, but I'm not very experienced on the highway yet. So, anyone need a roomie?

The AMV contest rules should be coming out within a couple of weeks. I'm also waiting for the art show contests. Maybe EK and I can have a art battle!
