This forum is for the announcement and discussion of anime conventions, and for the exchanging of rides to, and rooms at, conventions.

Since there isn't reserved seating, what's to stop us from just waiting in line all together, taking seats during the MAT3K, and moving if necessary for the contest? I think we can manage that. :D

Yep, that's pretty much it... TO get good seats, we'll have to lineup about 1 - 2 hours prior to the event though

Typical big-con fare. :) 's all good, if there are a lot of us, I'm sure just waiting in line shouldn't be all THAT bad. Plus, I doubt there's anything else going on at that time that we'd miss.

But...but... We'll have to miss "Cosplay: Hair Design"!!!

Seriously though, I am a bit disappointed I'll have to miss the AnimEigo panel. But given the choice between having a sweet seat for MAT3K and the Contest and that... I'll stand in line. Probably with the Afro on.

I really don't see what the big deal is about not having front-row seats at the AMV contest. It'll be at a bitch angle and too loud to discern lyrics that close anyhow...I'd rather rig it so that we're sitting in the middle...but that's just me.

As a creator, I would actually prefer the back. You can see it just as well as the front...and whenever I sit in the front, I'm frustrated with not being able to see the crowd when my vid is playing. Even if everyone's just sit there, you get a MUCH better sense of the energy of the crowd from the back. I learned this at Katsu when I sat in the back with Corbo and paizuri.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

Well, With such a Huge room, my preference would be somehwhere in between sso to see the videos and the crowd as well.. But then everyone has a preference so we'll see...

I like to be a fire hazard and block the doorway...you know...just because.

I'm with da Canadian on this one. I prefer the middle for movies generally. I do understand what Hsien is saying though.

We can decide at the contest I guess. It'll be wonderful just seeing it in front of so many people. I will take just about any seat.

I think with that many people, we won't really need to see them to guage their reaction. I'm rather relishing the thought of 6k people groaning when the title card for my vid comes up.

I'll happily sit wherever the lot of us end up...

I'm bringing a backup pair of glasses, in case my lenses break from the collective screaming of all the 12/13-year-old girls who will go nuts when they see that I've done an Avril Lavigne song. Or if Vic punches me in the face for interfering w/ his core demographic =)

I wish I could be there when 6,000 people groan at yet another goddamned Evangelion video... :?

And I'll be in the middle of it all expecting a massive "huh? wtf was that?" at the end of mine...
