AWA AMV Dinner - Cars

Postby Red Wolf » Sun Jun 29, 2003 8:58 pm

I'm still working on restaurant selection and I should be scouting out possibilities first hand next weekend. What I need right now is to know who will or may have a car/truck during the dinner. Let me know if you'll have access to vehicle and how many people it can hold (including the driver). Access to a vehicle includes your own vehicle, one you'll be renting, a friend's car you can borrow, or a friend's car whom you can con into coming to dinner with us. Obviously the vehicle must be free for all of Thursday evening.

If this is the first you are hearing about the AWA AMV dinner check out my earlier thread here. I don't want to be rude but unless you are posting, "Yes I'll have a car and it can hold # people," please don't post in this thread. Please refer all other comments about the dinner to the earlier thread. Thank you.

I now where you'll be sleeping, so you'd better give me a ride to the restaurant.

Yes, I'll have my car and it can hold 5 people. Though if you ever ask EK, she may tell you it holds only 4. Anyway... it's compact, so someone else can be the judge.

We will probably be driving to Atlanta, so hopefully if we do we can take two other people to the dinner.

You just like to get cozy with your passengers. :P

I can officially say that my car is now ant-free. It is not, however, ash free. I'll clean it before I leave, but considering I usually smoke about a pack on the drive down, it'll collect some more ash. It's fun. Then again, if I can afford it, maybe I'll have a nice new R8 and I will no longer be smoking. In the car.

jbone - you know you're riding with me, love machine.

Heh - that's exactly what I meant - unfortunately, my brain seems to have stopped working :) Yeah, I'm hoping to get mine in August... if all goes well, that is. Of course, I think that only fits four, so if I get it, I'm almost filled up! God, I hope that car is as good as it seems...

If we take the Pathfinder..we'll have room for about 4 people in the back unless someone wants to ride behind that in the cargo area  ..if we take the Grand Am then about 3 more...and if it happens that we have to take the Freightliner..then however many can cram themselves into the sleeper and pray we don't get stopped by the DOT j/king:wink: I don't forsee that we'll have to take it..but you never know..
and glad I'm not the only person that had/has an ant problem.. I got mine after the car sat in the yard for about 6 months with a blown engine..for the 2nd time..thank goodnees I'm rid of them finally...

Take the freightliner!!!

Heh - when I had my ant problem, it was mostly because I wasn't taking good care of my car - they found the leftover taco bell... you have a much better excuse than me :) Mike Barranti and I ended up cleaning out the car on the last day of AWA for about three hours. It was not fun. Especially with a hangover and that nagging fear of allergic reaction... good times, indeed.

I doubt I'll be driving down, but as my parents live in the Atlanta area, I might have access to one of their cars, possibly the full-size conversion van. Otherwise, I'll be needing a ride as well. 8)

I live about 10 minutes away from AWA, and if we take the Blazer we can fit in 6 people.
Although, unless we get all the teenager editors, you can really only fit in two people besides myself comfortably.

And then, of course, there's me trying to get my mom to pick up total strangers... But I could have my liscence byt hen, so who cares.

Oh, snap... delete that comment about the liscence.
Anyway, 6 or 2 people.. You decide. 0.o
