I think you missed the whole concept here. This video took place in an alternate reality. I basically build a story from scratch in which the three characters in this reality lived in the same world and had completely different lives. This was probably the most hardest thing to do since it involved creating an original story with it's own Dramatic elements. Unlike drawing on dramatic elements of an existing anime story, I had to build it into the story and use pre-animated characters to convey this with. All those I showed it to prior understood the story, but I will summarize it anyway. You can get more of my thoughts about the story on it's entry at:

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/legacy/video.php?v=9827

If you have any thoughs on this or it still doesn't make scence, e-mail me and I'll be happy to disucss this further. Actually, I would like to know as feedback if anyone else had a problem with the story

Sorry if this is going off topic a bit, I can move it to another group if necessary.

Vlad

NOTE: AMV “STORY” SPOILERS AHEAD------------Read after watching the video

Basically, the story deals with Both Spike and Ryo meeting at a grave site. At the beginning we aren't told who's grave this is, but it's definitely someone dear to both of them. In the time that both are standing, we are shown in a sequence of flashbacks the loneliness each of then has felt without here and how they see the Images of here where ever they go, as well as memories of the time they each had with that person (Myung), and if now becomes obvious that that is her grave they are visiting. The final question that remains is what happened to her? The final flashback of both Spike and Ryo reveals that and also the guilt they carry since they could not save here and blame themselves. We return back to the grave where both have now left and we finally see Myung's grave with two pictures standing against the tomb stone. the final shot zooms onto the two pictures revealing one of Ryo and Myung and the other of Spike and Myung with a dedication by her on each picture. Thus they have finally made peace and although they will never forget here, they are finally moving on with their lives….

Yes, that was the Outlaw Star one.
Those were original scenes? I thought it was CG you made for it. Where did you get it from?

No, I mean original as in truely original, made specifically for the vid. Your initial analysis of the footage is correct.

Well it's damn good. I suck at 3D animation (software lerning curve).

Wow. Just read John's Otakon 2002 report. *whew*

Just have three comments:

1) No 't' in my last name!
2) You forgot to say that you thought I was stalking you back to your room. Heh heh heh. And "great?" Damn, that's embarassing! I think, "I was sorely disappointed at the complete exhausted mess of an AMV creator that greeted me at my door" would have been more accurate.
3) That WAS a kick-ass costume.

Thanks for the feedback Scott, one question though. Is it ok if I leave the "t" in it for now, cause it took two days to write the thing (11 pages long), and it would take hours just to go through again and change it?

I will go it tonight if I remember, but I just don't have that kind of time right now.

I think you missed the whole concept here. This video took place in an alternate reality
Well, yeah, we got that much. We understood the whole story and exactly what you were trying to convey. The only thing is that we couldn't figure out why. But alternate reality or not, most people I knew viewed them as Spike, Ryo, and Myung. Three characters from three separate shows who were, for some unknown reason, thrown together into a love triangle.

Hey, it's just our opinion. I still think it was an awesome editing job.

And thanks to everyone who gave me links to/names of videos I saw.

Kung Pow

Post by hackerzc » Wed Jul 31, 2002 4:04 pm

Hey guys, I just finish watching the movie "Kung Pow" for the first time and I all I kept thinking was "this could so be an anime fan parody". Well, if it was done to anime anyway. Very funny. Check it out.
