What about things such as kingdom hearts (3D animations based off anime)?

Org rules state it's an anime source, so it's fine...

Games such as Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy or whatever that has their companies in Japan is permitted in the final round. Basically, if you can upload it to a-m-v.org, then you can edit with it in the final round.

But video game footage is allowed in the early rounds too.

Why do I have this strange feeling this is about to turn into Project PonyEditor?

This would make me sad. I liked seeing the variety of sources that we brought to the table last year. I'd hate to see this devolve into spitting out carbon copies of the latest craze.

I seriously doubt that it will be a problem. Last year, we had full access to live action footage, and we had MAYBE 2 or three videos in the entire competition that used them. Besides the fact that many rounds make it almost more difficult to use live action and/or non-anime footage.

Granted, the pony craze is pretty big, but I don't think EVERYONE will edit with pony footage. But it'd certainly make me sad too. ;____;

Anyway, we're starting this puppy up very shortly. We're right at 40 entries, so the elimination schedules are looking pretty extreme in the first two rounds.

I also pray for our judge panel's sanity. XD
