This was tons of fun to make. :D

I am going to thank God every night from now until the end of the contest that I did not get that song.

I gotta say man, that was an incredible opportunity you had with that song-source combo. It's really too bad you didn't do more with it.

INDEED!!! :o
that could've been such a great combination :/...argh...

Match 05: AngelDragoon vs. Pwolf
AngelDragoon's Source: Munto 5-9
Pwolf's Source: The Animatrix
Song: Astronautalis - Two Years Before The Mast
WINNER: AngelDragoon

Match 31: Arashinome vs. ngsilver
Arashinome's Source: The Sky Crawlers
ngsilvers's Source: Photon - Idiot Adventures
Song: Over the Ocean - Something I Was Not
WINNER: Arashinome

Match 43: NME vs. LittleAtari
NME's Source: Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro
LittleAtari's Source: Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete
Song: Michael Jackson - P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)
WINNER: NME

Congrats to the winners. Two of these matches came down to a split vote which needed a tie breaker, hence why it took a bit longer to get the results in. So, very close again!

Gonna have a lot of match results today (assuming judges are all online).

Match 5 - I personally enjoyed the Animatrix video, but I will conceded they were both good videos with a great song.

Match 31 - I voted for Arashinome's, however with the song and the visuals of the source I believe you could have done way better during the intense parts of the songs rather than just straight cuts every half second. Was irksome. But the rest of the editing apart from those bits was pretty solid

NG I give you huge props for even including that source in your list.

Match 43 - When I first watched them I voted for NME's. Then I rewatched and realised I clearly hadn't been paying attention the first time, because HOLY CRAP that lip sync and overall mood of the Advent Children one was AMAZING. Creepy awesome. But, there's a panel of judges for a reason so NME took it away :P Still a good video by NME, and pretty good luck having something like Lupin to Michael Jackson haha

Sadly, I don't really know that source very well. I was really excited when I heard the song because I knew I had a really good idea on my hands. I just couldn't pull through with it the way I wanted to in the time frame. I am planning on finishing the video, so when I do ya'll can see what I was trying to go for.

In the mean time, good luck Joey. I'm pulling for you to either win or loose. Just depends on which ruin's the most brackets of everyone who was right in choosing you. Sore looser much? Oh yeah!

Word, I concur. There was a lot more I would've liked to have done effect-wise in those areas that would've spiced it up sufficiently, but time is a bitch.

Unfortunately the matches today were a little too close. We're gonna have to wait until tomorrow.

I'm mostly not commenting on the matches, but damn Atari. You turned what sounds like an incredible bad song/anime combo into something that fit astoundingly well. I was impressed with how well you made it work, even for just half a minute.

Agreed. As fun and fitting as NME's video was (I genuinely do really like it), I was highly impressed by Noor's ingenuity. Granted, it was a simple enough concept. But I was really worried when she got her source, knowing the song. I was assuming it was just gonna be a fairly generic FF7:AC video that happened to be set to a classic MJ song. The fact that she figured out how to make a funny (albeit, insanely creepy) conceptual video out of it really surprised me. So bravo!

Indeed, I found it hilarious and really awesome. As awesome as it was, NME's was significantly longer and also had some pretty awesome parts as well. In a way, I saw the shortness as a bit of a failure on Atari's part, because a point of an Iron Chef is to try to do something cool given the time constraints. I think he focused too much on that little part, and got beaten by the clock. It's like taking a test and spending all of your time trying to answer the first question.
