That's because you're a fucking retard who doesn't know how to hold up the good end of an intelligent conversation. It's all a matter of opinion, got that fag? He doesn't like VNs, so what? Don't be so butthurt about it and just fucking move along, respect his opinion just like people put up with your goddamn stupidity. Tolerance motherfucker, do you speak it?
I can't tell if you're being satirical or not.

xexyzl wrote:Now, generally I take the Guantanamo bay approach to everything, so if you can recommend me a visual novel that I would truly enjoy and I take the time to check it out, I may retract my misheld notions. You repeatedly suggested Clannad, but to be honest, while the synopsis didn't make me roll with laughter, I didn't find it particularly interesting. Are there VNs out there that are not, to quote Lupin the 3rd Abridged "Crying girls and snow crap"? That'd be a good start.

I'm pretty sure you don't want me to start. But whatever I will anyways.

and be sure to read the synopses of these so I don't have to post them here, it'd get way too long.

Chaos;Head - This game is incredible, never played anything like it. So it has a linear story but so do books. No H scenes

Ever17 -the out of infinity- No H scenes in this one either. Definitely worth the 119 hours underwater, trapped in an amusement park. I still haven't finished this one.

Fate/stay night - I haven't completely finished this one. I'm playing it on VNDS on my R4DS for my DS Lite. It's incredible, just go play it.

Katawa Shoujo - I'm not even gonna bother, you know how much I love this game.

Moon. - Wow is this game ever dark. And I'm not just talking about the lighting.

Saya no Uta - Made by the same guys who made Chaso;HEAd, not as good as Chaos;HEAd but still very VERY good. Playing this on VNDS.

Tears to Tiara - Well it's got RPG gameplay in it. It's really fun and hard as hell.

Utawarerumono - Came before Tears to Tiara and is quite obviously much better. Gameplay is similar, RPG elements and all.

Wanko to Kurasou - Just for giggles. Funny and good quality art. Story is a little generic and the characters are a bit 2 dimensional (both figuratively and literally) but still fun.

Wind -A Breath of Heart- This game is great. I just started playing it and it's already sucked me right in.

Yume Miru Kisuri - Little hard to explain what I think of it. Just know that I loved it.

Well there you have it. Go play some VNs now.

And you see the thing is, Key makes the best VNs ever. Kanon, Clannad, Air and Planetarian are the ones I've played. And they're amazing.

Now stop reading synopses and actually play a game before you complain about the story. That's like saying something tastes bad just because it doesn't look appetizing.

Oh I forgot one

Hitonatsu no Yume - This has girls crying. Depressed the hell outta me. It was the first VN I played the whole way through.

And read your synopses here

Persona and Ace Attorney are considered visual novels? I had no idea . . .

Well I added every game I have that's recorded on VNDB. Not everything there is a VN. But they all from Japan, except the VNs that are from other places (Katawa Shoujo) They don't put non-japanese non-VNs though.

I ought to elaborate. Arcana Heart and Melty Blood are fighting games and they are there. Lux Pain is a VN for the DS. And there are a few others on my list.

They've been repeatedly called games, even by Hasteroth. I don't think it's unreasonable that hardcore gamers are disgusted to find out what they really are.

Well it's habit. I called them games cause that's what they are classified as. But I too am a hardcore gamer.

Technically, if it has a controllable variable and an objective, it could be classified as a game. Even if a very passive one.

Well there are VNs that don't have variables. But almost all of them are doujin VNs.

I actually find books more fun to read than visual novels. : /
Not my cup of tea. I don't bash people who like them (except chez, luv ya) but guess i find it a bit weird people would become so obsesses with them.

Well, for me, it's the same as reading a normal novel. Just on the computer... and with voices, sometimes. No real difference, so if someone is obsessed, then it's the same as them being obsessed with books right?
