Though I generally believe that if the anime moves me in some way it is a good anime. Physical motion does not count, it must be emotional. Every anime in my top 10 has moved me to tears (except Haruhi and Lucky Star) especially Clannad, though you already knew that.

Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu <= I cannot stress enough how much you should watch this anime if saikano hit you like a brick then this one will hit you like a ton of bricks. Only difference is the ending for this one is somewhat happier if any...

The drama durring their relation ship is intense. I can't say why or how cause it would be spoiled. So go watch it.

(One scene in particular felt like someone hits you in the stomache with a pickaxe, I'm sure you will feel it and know what scene i'm talking about exactly when it happens)

This anime and saikano are actually pretty simular in story.

If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

it's only 6 episodes. The drama goes full blown around episode 4.

Clannad made me cry on several occasions as well as a couple others but clannad being the most recent. The movie did the worst damage to me.

Never cried during any Film, Anime, or Video Game. I pride myself on that fact.

However I was REALLY close on:
Grave of the Fireflies (needs an explanation?)
Gurren Lagann [both the sad (ep 8, 25) and the epic (ep 8, 11, 25, 26, 27)]
Gunslinger Girl (fuck s2 and its loli-rezzing powers; the ending of the original series was amazing)
Voices of a Distant Star (Place Promised was sort of sad, but it didn't make as much of an impact on me. 5cm was not very good outside the eye candy)
Berserk (especially the Eclipse as told in the Anime. The rage, sadness, love, lust, and betrayal all combines into a sort of emotional whirlwind for the viewer)

See that's what I'm wondering, what is so sad about 5cm? Sure the main character is a loser, but are we supposed to feel sorry for him or something?
