I showed her all three Shinkai movies already when I bought them. She rather enjoyed them, but I had to explain a whole lot that was going on after each movie. For A Place Promised in Our Early Days, she was completely lost, and I basically had to retell her the entire plot of the movie after she'd watched it.

Was Fancy La La dubbed?

I know Creamy Mami, which Fancy La La is a reboot of, isn't even licensed. Anyhow, if Fancy La La is dubbed, that is a definite recommendation.

Kionon wrote:How has Sailor Moon NOT been included on this list? The first and second seasons are quite watchable dubbed. After R though... S and SuperS are hard to get through because of the voice actress changes. But I watched Sailor Moon when it was airing in the US the first time around. Even now, though I prefer subbed from several standpoints, there is nothing overtly wrong about the first two seasons dubbed. I especially think they did a decent job with the Alan/Anne (Doom Tree) arc.

I still adore Sailor Moon, and it has had a much bigger impact on my life, admittedly, than any other anime series, and that includes my beloved KOR. It was just there at the right time to get me into anime full blown while I was in middle school.

I was wondering the same thing? What no Sailor Moon. Definately recommended, except for Sailor Stars. lol. (and this is if you get the dub...the subs when Uranus and Neptune arrive have a bit of girl on girl stuff going on). lol.

Uh, Pretear, I liked it personally, but...I'm not sure if I'd show it to a grade school kid. It's innocently kinda sexual in their "Preating" lol.

Definately Fushigi Yugi when she gets a little older... :)

I never got to finish it, but Someday's Dreamers started off good...I don't know the Japanese name though.

Kyo Kara Maoh is pretty good. It does hint at yaoi, but nothing crazy. It's actually set up that way to be funny.

Sorry, I'm trying to think of titles released here in the US. lol. XXXaholic was innocent enough, and Tsubasa Resivoir Chronicles. Sorry if I'm spelling really crappy, I'm being lazy, plus my cat insists on resting his head and feet on my arm, which makes it hard to type. lol.

R u serious???

Never seen it, but my brother bought the DVD sometime last year, told me that he was shipping some anime home for him to pick up after his tour of duty, and if I remember correctly...the cover made it look...uh bad. lol. Thankfully it was me who opened his package and not my mom...eewwww.

Why is it that the only thing that's been screaming inside my head as I read the last 3 pages was "Pokemon!" I remember watching that when I was 9 and I still think it's going on. A story of a boy and his pet mouse, can't go wrong there. What about Tweenie Witches, haven't seen it but it's worth a look.

lets see some of my recommendations would probably

Pokemon - though its a hated series, for children they love it and many people grew up with it so its pretty decent for young kids

Digimon - same outfit as the first imho

Spirited Away - watched this one when i was about ten and loved it so maybe you can let her try it (though I'm a guy but its w/e)

Tokyo Mew Mew - have not seen this series but my friends little sister loves it so maybe?

other then that Sailor Moon is x2 by me as well.
Image I stream and stuff o.o
