Lodoss Island

Postby MistyCaldwell » Sat Jan 11, 2003 4:35 pm

So I am browsing the Ohayocon dealers room early on Friday :D And something catches my eye.

It's a soundtrack for something called 'Lodoss Island". It is the characters from Record of Lodoss War but they are all chibis and it looks like a Dragon Half style anime from the screen shots on the back.

I get all excited and try to get some info out of the dealer about it but he has no clue about the actual anime.

When I searched, I came up with some more screen shots and a date of 1999 for the anime itself, but most of the pages were portuguese or spanish (sorry I can't tell the difference) so I got little info. I can't find any imports of it and I want to see it a whole lot! They were so cute!

Has anyone seen this before? If so, how was it...and what's your favorite online import store so that I may indulge myself? :D

You haven't heard of Welcome to Lodoss Island? :D
I'm not a big Lodoss fan, but from what I gather, it's a bunch of SD shorts that played after episodes of the TV series.

Anyway, there are a few good AMVs using it. You should see this one, if you can find it:

That's what I get for watching Record of Lodoss war at anime meetings. Why did they deny me? I'll try to find some definite location of where to find it on DVDs and try to find that SailorDeath amv (which sounds far harder, but here I go!)

Thanks for the info dokidoki :D

Specifically, they are played after the Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of Heroic Knight (It's the TV Series, not the old OVA) episodes, and made to be a major comedy break from the general seriousness of the series. SailorDeath made a hilarious AMV with clips from it set to Monty Python's 'Camelot' song. It's very well synched.

Well, it'll be ok.

If you pay attention to the AMV mailing list, near the end of January, all our dreams will once again be fulfilled. Just have to wait until then I guess.

Thanks everyone

Awwww, I want it :D . It makes me all giddy and nostalgic. Record of Lodoss War is essentially what hooked me into anime. Gimme gimme someone. Ah well.

Actually I didn't get it from a-m-v.org.

I got it from http://www.simperson.com/

Click the Humorous/Satirical link on the big list of AMVs on the row which it shows up on to get to it's download page.

There's lots of good AMVs there. Although, several times in the past I've been unable to download AMVs from there as too many people were downloading from there. ^^;
