Name: Towards the Terra

Watched it through 4 times already, oh and I'm referring to the 2007 series, I know that it's a remake of a 1970 anime movie. It really has everything I could ask for in an anime, epic plot with time skips to elevate it as well as juxtaposing from 2 different points of view, dynamic characters with the best developments I have ever seen. Epic moments and plot twists as well as themes and subject matters which make you think. They got a lot of popular seiyuus and $(*^(& the music is brilliant, easily the best anime OST ever. The animation is also top notch with plenty of motion, though the character designs are different to other anime so might take a while to get used to. The anime feels real despite being a sci-fi, it captures and delivers emotions to the viewers exceptionally well and...

I can go on and on but I'd rather people just give it a try =|

My favorite Anime.... Its hard to choose just one, because I like a wide variety of shows. But here's my pick:

Show: Sailor Moon (Original Japanese Version, Can't stand the dubbed)
Genre: Action, Comedy, Romance, Magical girl.

Reasons For liking it: Because its the first Anime I ever watched, and still to this day reigns number one in my favorites. It has a good combination of Action, comedy, tragedy, and romance, it can make even today's soap opera's jealous:). Memorable characters and plot keep the show entertaining through out the series. It is definetly a classic amongst us Diehard anime fans:).

Honorable Mentions: Beserk, Eva, Dai-Gaurd, Love Hina, Full Metal Panic, Burst Angel.

Name: 5 Centimeters Per Second: A Chain of Short Stories About Their Distance
Genre: Romance
Reasons: I bought the DVD and watched it on a huge screen. At the time I was emotionally down when watching it and it touched me on an entirely new level. I immediately fell in love with it and it's now my favorite anime. Gundam Wing used to be recently...

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's

there are really good fighting scenes althought the first season began like a typical magical girl anime.
the characters are also great. all in all it was really exciting.

my three favs

Gantz
Action,thriller
It's a great and gory action packed show with a great ending. If you haven't seen it by now, you need to.

School Rumble
romantic comedy
I like this one because it dosn't follow the usual romantic comedy foil. The characters are also different from any anime I've seen and the show does away with all the usual cliches, though it's more of a comedy than a romance.

Black Cat
action
An intresting show that's just plain intresting. It grabs you from beginning to great ending.

Utawarerumono:
This anime really doesn't get enough love. The story is amazing; it has everything a good story needs; romance, humor, cuteness, angst, action, war, sadness, flashbacks, plot twists. Half of the events prior to the beginning of the story are related near the end of the series. I don't want to spoil anything about it but it's a beautiful story that's perfectly wound up in 26 episodes. Some parts at the end made me want to cry. There really are no filler episodes, everything advances the plot.

For those who haven't heard of it, the basic plot is that a healer's apprentice from a remote village, Eruruu, finds an injured man in the forest with no memories of his past and a mask that he cannot remove. He struggles to remember his past, but meanwhile he becomes devoted to the people in the village and leads them in battle when war descends upon them.
